The BSWC was formed by Linda Mellor in response for the need for a British-based Club to assist second wives, whether married or not, through the ups and downs of living with a man with a history!

The British Second Wives Club

Linda, who Founded The BSWC in March 2005, says:

"I now understand how a second wife can be driven to distraction by his jealous ex, who is unable to get over him and to move on with her life."

We are more than 3 yrs old! The BSWC was launched on March 1st 2005 and has had thousands of Members during that time who have found support and friendship from others in the same position.

Read what our Members have said about The BSWC:

"I love the fact the BSWC not only helps us through difficult times with our partners and stepchildren but also gives the opportunity to talk about anything and everything (good and bad) - I can truly say that I have laughed and cried with the girls in the Club."

"I was at my wits end. I knew I couldn't be the only one having the same sort of feelings but I just didn't know anyone I could talk to and would understand.  It's great to be able to ask advice, share experiences, have a laugh, all with women who know exactly what you mean."

"BSWC is a safe haven for me - a judgement-free zone where I can find support, guidance and great advice from a lot of wise women"......read more comments

We also have Members who are wives of widowers.  Many of our Members who have step children have had to deal with court applications, enforcement of court orders, parental alienation, dealing with the CSA and their assessments, CAFCASS and Social Workers, conflicting advice from solicitors, education, and health issues just to name a few.

The British Second Wives Club ForumsAt the heart of The BSWC The British Second Wives Club are the very friendly Forums and chat room, which we believe are the busiest, most informative and most secure forums of their kind in The UK.

The BSWC has one if the easiest Chat Rooms to use: one click and you've in and chatting with other British Second Wives.

Free competitions!
The BSWC runs very regular free-to-enter competitions.  So far this year, members have won more than 40 items of jewellery, personalised caricatures and gift vouchers for Boots, M&S and other similar shops.  Another reason to join The BSWC today!

Have you ever felt alone, misunderstood?
The BSWC understands your situation and you'll never be alone again.  Many of The BSWC Members know what it is like living with a man with a history. Does his past interfere with your present?  We understand what it is like to live with a man with baggage!  Often there are stepchildren thrown into the pot (through no fault of their own) which causes extra chaos.

If your man has a past, many of you will identify with the articles below, which were written for us by Members of The BSWC:
The Spiteful Ex-wife.

Season of Goodwill?
Not if you are with a man who is divorced!

Christmas isn’t the season to be jolly with some ex-wives and goodwill isn’t extended to divorced dads or ex-husbands.  Christmas can be a very fraught time for families, especially so in second marriages when the festivities demand multiple arrangements to be made with ex-spouses to accommodate Father Christmas, children and step-children....read more

Bitter Ex Wife Pattern

It is recognised and accepted that Divorce is a painful, emotional process and it takes time for both separated spouses to recover and get on with their new lives. The BSWC has found, and many health professions agree, it takes at least 12 months for parties to get over the divorce and focus on their new lives however many 2nd marriages are finding, sometimes years after the previous marriage had ended in divorce, they are having to deal with the a bitter ex-wife who refuses to get over it...read more
